Xbox Tests New Console Personalization Options

Microsoft has opened a new round of Xbox testing, bringing more customization options and navigation improvements to members of the Xbox Insider Program.
According to a post on Xbox Wire, the update is initially available to select participants in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring before rolling out to more members of the program and, eventually, the broader public.
The main addition involves profile and interface colors. Players will now be able to enter hex color codes to pick an exact color or use the new “match my gamerpic” option, which automatically pulls a shade from the user’s profile image. Before applying the change, players will be able to preview how the color will look on the console.
The Xbox Accessories app will also begin showing an image of the connected controller. The feature will support most Xbox Wireless Controllers with a Share button, as well as the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, mainly helping users who own special editions or have multiple controllers registered.
Another important change is the arrival of a “What’s New” section directly on the Home screen. After an update, Insiders will be able to access more detailed release notes, including new features, changes, and relevant fixes for the testing ring they are enrolled in.
Xbox will also receive a service status indicator in the upper-right corner of the screen whenever there is a confirmed network issue. From there, users will be able to open the status page without having to check other websites or social media.
These features are expected to roll out gradually after the initial testing phase with Insiders.
